Book your ticket in advanced for the lowest possible price.
There are almost no last minute flights which can be obtained at attractive prices, in comparison to vacation package including hotel. If you are looking for a cheap ticket, the best you do is place a reservation in advanced, especially for long flights. Relying on two or three months and even at four months for air travel during the school holidays.
Optimize the duration of your holiday
Would you like to just break away for just three or four days? In order to get a good price for such a flight, you better spend the night of Saturday and Sunday at that destination. If you opt for break through the week, this option will most likely be more expensive. Will you stay away for longer than a month? Please note that this option will be even more expensive.
Please note when placing a reservation
Small precautionary measure for each reservation: carefully read the conditions of the ticket. Especially note the points regarding changes and cancellations. The lower the rates, the more the rules.
Check on your name
Ladies, please note! Be careful with the name you specify when booking. Make sure to match with the name on your ID card to avoid problems at check-in. If you are married, but your maiden name is still on your passport then your maiden name must be on the reservation. It would be a shame if because of a name issue you could not fly!
Flight with or without a stop?
A flight with a stop for a low price or a slightly more expensive direct flight? That depends on the duration of your holiday, it is often advantageous for a short vacation to take a direct flight. This way you avoid waiting, stress, fatigue and enjoy a longer holiday.
Flying with the whole family?
Today we more often take the plane with the whole family. It is therefore useful to know that there are often special child rates. Children under two years pay less than the standard ticket price (excluding taxes), but they do the whole trip on your lap. From 2 to 12 years they pay 50% of the ticket price (excluding taxes) for domestic flights and a minimum of 65% for international flights. In any case, you must keep your children busy during the flight so remember their toys, colored pencils, magazines, books, etc.
Luggage
Check on the weight of your luggage: this should generally be not heavier than 20 kg. Each additional kilogram will cost a lot of money. If you want to take a lot of souvenirs, bring less baggage.
Due to security reasons you should not have sharp objects (scissors, knives, tweezers, etc.) in your hand luggage. Also make sure that your luggage has a label with your address.
